Franschhoek
Winelands, Western Cape, South Africa
Tatler Travel 2005 – Rated as World’s
Best Small Hotel
Le Quartier Français is ideal for
anyone who enjoys the winelands, fine dining
and superb service. Resting in the French
Huguenot village of Franschhoek, in the heart
of the Cape winelands, this privately owned
and managed Auberge has 15 en-suite bedrooms
and 2 suites – each with their own
private pool – and a private library
overlooking a central garden courtyard and
swimming pool.

Fine dining at le Quartier is defined
by the Tasting Room, a dinner-only restaurant
offering a four, six or eight course dining
experience of exquisitely presented culinary
delights from a constantly evolving menu.
The eight-course extravaganza also provides
a different wine to compliment each course.

iCi is a relaxed, café-style restaurant
providing lunch, casual dinners and anything
in between. It flows from the street-side
terrace through the new, spacious interior
decorated in a chic, yet delightfully unbuttoned
way to an outdoor fireplace in the garden.
The food is casual and uncomplicated, teamed
with a wine list that extends from award-winning wines to trendy local creations.

The Screening Room
is an intimate cinematic theatre experience
with the style and decadence of halcyon
days gone by. Enjoy celebrated classics
from the comfort of one of twenty four
arm chairs or indulge in ‘couch
time’, drink in hand. With state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and great
eats from iCi it is an ideal venue for private
celebrations and product launches.

Four Quarters is
the latest addition to Le Quartier Français,
having opened in December 2005. This four-bedroom villa in the grounds of
the auberge has a private lounge, swimming
pool and butler, and is ideal for families
or groups of friends. Decorated in characteristically
funky bold designs, Four Quarters is the
place to be seen for 2007.
