Day 4:

Today is the practice round for the Grand Prix. You will be transferred to the race and collected afterwards. Day one of the race weekend is the first opportunity to experience the 2007 South African A1GP – World Cup of Motor sport as the A1 Grand Prix race cars hit the circuit for two action packed official practice sessions each lasting one hour.

This brand new 3,283 km (estimated R90 million) South African street circuit is located just north of the popular costal city of Durban, next to the famous Suncoast Casino Complex and has already been referred to by some locals as the “Monaco” of South Africa. Like the Albert Park Grand Prix circuit in Australia this circuit is not really a “street circuit” in the true sense of the word and it offers a good combination of high as well as low speed corners with possible passing opportunities at the first hairpin at the end of the Pits Straight, the first Chicane as well as at the tight right-hand corner, at end of the back straight.

Day 5:

After breakfast transfer to the Grand Prix for the qualifying round. The teams will be competing for fastest lap times across four 15 minute qualifying sessions to establish grid positions for Sunday's Sprint Race.

The local summer weather of extremely high ambient and track temperatures, humidity factors and a distinct possibility of rain will put high stress levels on the engineers, the drivers and their cars. The 2007 South African A1GP certainly has all the required ingredients to develop into an extremely exciting race weekend.

You may consider having dinner at the famous Lynton Hall tonight. Lynton Hall is pure luxury on the South Coast that used to be a sanctuary of sugar baron Sir Frank Reynolds. With the Empire to choose from, this gracious property was selected by King George VI and his family for his recuperation in 1952. Its historic acreages incorporate the "Chequers" of South Africa, Botha House, donated to the Nation for the exclusive use of its Prime Ministers and Presidents.

Day 6:

Today is the main race and once again you will be transferred to the race area. The action begins with a 15 minute warm up session and then the Grand Prix race action begins with the Sprint Race, lasting approximately 20 minutes and featuring a rolling start. The results from the Sprint Race determine the grid order for the main Feature Race lasting approximately 1 hour starting at 15h00 and featuring a compulsory pit stop to change tyres.

Day 7:

Depart Durban for a pleasant morning drive inland towards Pietermaritzburg, and into the area of the Valley of a Thousand Hills. A short stop at the view site for photographs and a moment to absorb the breathtaking views.

The tour continues to Assegai to the Zulu Cultural Village of Phezulu. After a cup of tea you will have the opportunity to meet with this warm and friendly nation, and learn a little of their culture. Zulu dancing and a visit to the curio before carrying on our journey to Tala Game Reserve. This is a small private game farm, which has a delightful setting among the acacia trees and open plains.

On arrival refreshments will be served under the trees followed by luncheon at the Latala restaurant which is considered one of the best ! Good South African wine and a delicious lunch will be enjoyed. Game vehicles will arrive to take you on a game drive to have a close view of the game. You can expect to see giraffe, rhino, wildebeest, ostrich, antelope, warthog and hippos. The bird life is abundant. After your game drive a leisurely journey is planned for the trip home. Bring along a sweater and camera.

Day 8:

Relax, spend the day on the beach, or do some last minute shopping.

Day 9:

Today you will check out of the hotel and travel to Durban International Airport for
your onward flight.
