Detailed
Itinerary
Day
1:Arrival Cape Town
Relax, unwind and spend time
exploring the city at your leisure.
In the late afternoon, and weather
permitting, we ascend the summit of
Table Mountain, with views from
3500 feet above Cape Town City.
Soak in the view and enjoy some
light local refreshments, before
a life-altering decent. Experience a
surge of adrenaline as you abseil
down the face of Table Mountain with
the crystal blue Atlantic far below.
At an incredible 112 metres, this is the
largest commercial abseil in the world.
Transfer to the V&A Waterfront for
dinner at leisure.
Day
2: Cape Point tour & ocean kayak
Take a leisurely drive to the southern
end of the Cape Peninsula which
boasts 2 points of interest, the Cape
of Good Hope and the more
southerly Cape Point. En-route back,
we stop in at Simonstown for a 2 hour
guided paddle to Boulders Beach.
Visit the penguins and stop off for
a snorkel and a swim.
(No previous
experience necessary).
Enjoy a light lunch in Simonstown at
Seaforth Restaurant which boasts
stunning views of the sea and
mountains. Continue back to Cape
Town via Chapmans Peak, one of the
most spectacular coastal roads in
South Africa.
Day
3: Kamakazi Canyon
The day begins with breakfast at the
Sunbird Lodge, followed by a gentle
45min hike into the gorge. The walk
takes us to the base of a series
of tiered rock pools called the "Crystal Pools". Here we instruct you
in the art of kloofing, (jumping from
rock ledges into deep pools).
The jumps start at 3-7 metres for the
cautious beginner, and go up to
a 20 metre jump for the truly
courageous (or insane).
After we have worked our way up the
canyon rock pools (kloofing is not
compulsory), you will experience our
fantastic 65 metre waterfall abseil
at the top of the gorge, with a view
comparable to no other!
Day
4: Winelands
Take a scenic drive through the
Cape's premier wine regions to
Franschhoek, the gourmet capital of
South Africa. This charming town
in the most picturesque valley, retains
a sophisticated French Huguenot
style. Visit Stellenbosch, the oldest
town in South Africa, and walk
down the canal-lined avenues.
An air of quiet intellectualism and
wine-making history abounds in this
university town.
Day
5: Optional activities
Today is designed to allow you
to choose your own adventure sport,
to suit your courage and adrenaline
levels before returning to the guest
lodge for an evening at leisure.

Day
6: Travel to Swellendam
Travel from Cape Town to Swellendam,
established because of the old Cape
Wagon Road, a trail blazed by early
hunters, traders and explorers. Today
Swellendam is a pretty place with wide
streets flanked by fine Cape Dutch
and Victorian architecture.
For the
afternoon we take you on a 210m
long and 40m high ‘Fuffi Slide’
(Flying Fox/Death Slide/Zip Wire) - the
longest one we know of! Spend
the afternoon on the Breede River
and enjoy a traditional South African"braai" (barbecue).
Day
7: Travel to Knysna
After a late breakfast we continue our
journey to the coastal town of Knsyna,
between lush forests and the shores
of a peaceful lagoon. Knysna offers
a variety of activities and attractions
including a privately owned nature
reserve called Featherbed Bay.
Also, the Knysna Lagoon is one
of the few places along the coast
and in the world that supports an
oyster hatchery – Knysna oysters
are reputedly among the tastiest in
the world.
Day
8: Mountain bike through
Knysna Forest
Today’s tour starts with a spectacular
bike ride through the Harkerville
Forest, the last area of Closed Canopy
Afro-Montane Forest in Southern
Africa. Cycling will be over by midday
and you will be transported to Knysna
Quays for a light lunch and
refreshments, including local Knysna
beer, wine and soft drinks.
You will
then depart for a 2 hour cruise on "Deep South", a 22 foot cabin boat, in
time to see the Outeniqua Choo Tjoe
cross the railway bridge over the
lagoon. The boat cruise will allow you
to view the Knysna Heads and various
marine life.
Day9: Tree top canopy tour & bridge swing
A unique opportunity to enjoy the
indigenous forest high up on eight
treetop platforms gliding, safely
harnessed, along steel cables
30 metres above the forest floor.
Birdlife is abundant and your guides
will explain the forest’s ecology.
You then meet Gourits Swing and
have the opportunity to leap, fall,
dive or jump off the platform and
swing across the river bed below you.
