Special Interest Tours / Birdwatching - Eastern Escarpment (SA)

Eastern Escarpment & Kruger Bird Watching 01 - 09 March 2008

This Birdwatching adventure offers great habitat diversity from open grasslands, montane forests, bushveld savanna and wetlands. This area has the highest diversity in mammal species, hosting the famous "big 5" as well as an array of other mammal species. Superb scenery adds to the enjoyment and due to the diverse habitats we explore, we end up with a huge bird list, plus plenty of mammals as well.

Some of the special birds we can see are:
• Cape Eagle Owl
• Wattled Crane
• Gurney's Sugarbird
• Pale-crowned Cisticola
• Yellow-breasted Pipit
• White-backed Duck
• Knysna Turaco
• Taita Falcon
• Blue Swallow
• Bat Hawk
• Cape Vulture
• Gorgeous Bush-Shrike
• Narina Trogon
• Kori Bustard and plenty more
